Leeds FA Cup Odds v Rotherham

An interesting matchup in the AFC third round will have two Football League Championship teams clashing to advances in the FA Cup. Ellan Road will be the scenario where Leeds United host Rotherham, this Saturday, January 9 at 15:00.

Both teams are struggling to find ways to win this in the Championship, and that could be reflected in their FA Cup meeting.  They won’t get a ticket to the Premier League nor will be close to the playoffs; however, if they focus on a run in this tournament they might get a chance to save the season.

Leeds United is 20 points behind Middlesbrough, the current leaders of the Football League Championship.  Despite they are 10 points away from Ipswich, which has the last spot into the playoffs; they can find any consistency in their game.

The Whites have drawn three games in a row since their last victory, earning only 10 points of their last 21.  The team is looking to sign some new players in the transfer window to get a boost for the second half of the tournament.

“We are trying hard to make not only Kyle Lafferty happen, but also to sign two or three good players”, said Leeds United manager Steve Evans.

“Our owner has had a few chats with his counterparts at Norwich, and I have to let that process take its due course. It is frustrating when you would like to add to the group. He is a young man who we identified from a while out.

The Leeds FA Cup Odds v Rotherham have the Whites as big favorites, paying their win at 1.85 while the Millers’ win is at 4.0, and the draw is at 3.6.

Rotherham have had bigger problems than Leeds this season.  Their idea of success will be not to end up in the relegation zone when the season is over.  Currently, they are at the 21 spot of 24 teams, with 21 points after 25 fixtures in the Football League Championship.  They have lost five of their last seven games; in between those games they actually upset Bolton and Hull City, but they went back to losing against Fulham and Preston.

“We’re not flush with players at this moment in time. We have got players injured and things are mounting up. But we will patch them up, we have got a blank week now where we will take stock, put the lads get back together and make sure we’re ready for next weekend”, said Rotherham boss Neil Redfearn.

These two squads already met this season, back in November, and Rotherham came from Ellan Road as the winners with a 0-1 score. Rotherham have won three of the last four meeting, including a 2-1 victory last season.

However, the problems they are having right now can’t be denied.  Leeds United will play at home and with a slightly better momentum than the Millers. Bet Leeds to win and advance in the FA Cup.
