UCL Odds Arsenal vs Barcelona

Arsenal’s primary goal is to live to fight another day.  The Gunners will try to do the unthinkable and try to beat FC Barcelona, when they meet in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, this Tuesday, February 23 at the Emirates Stadium, at 19:45.

When I say they should fight to live another, I meant they should have a result that gives them a chance when they visit Barcelona in two weeks.

“Suárez gives that to a team. He did it at Liverpool; he did it playing for Uruguay with Cavani and Forlán and did it well. Suárez is the kind of guy who manages to create that spirit in teams. Apart from the individual talent the three have, they have a great solidarity. When you see someone like Messi, who could score his 300th goal, give the ball to Suárez when he had the opportunity to score that means there’s really something in there”, Arsene Wegner said of Barcelona.

Arsenal are coming off a 0-0 draw against Hull City in the FA Cup.  They have been on and off this season, and that won’t cut it to play against a team like FC Barcelona.

The UCL Odds Arsenal v Barcelona rated the Gunners at 5.25 to win this match. The Blaugranas are 1.67 to get the victory, and the draw is at 4.2.

“It’s our best chance no matter how big the chance is. We have to take it and have a go at them. I believe in these big games, in the first tie at home, we can’t be stupid”, Wegner added.

FC Barcelona hasn’t lost in the last 35 games.  They have won the last three matches in the La Liga tournament, beating Las Palmas (1-2), Gijon (1-3) and Celta Vigo (1-6).

“Today we played a more effective game than usual,” Luis Enrique said about his win against Las Palmas. “At this rhythm, playing every two or three days, we can only keep going. We can be more or less in control, effective or not, but you saw what happened.

“That is another competition — a different tie, over 180 minutes,” he added. “For sure they will be a difficult rival, with the quality to give us problems. It will difficult, they all are.”

The truth is Barcelona haven’t had any problem against Arsenal over the last few matches. FC Barcelona have won five of their last seven meetings against Arsenal, including two times where they eliminated the London team in the UEFA Champions League playoffs.
