Chelsea will try to forget their poor performances in other competitions when they visit Stoke City in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup. This match will be played on Tuesday, October 27th at Britannia Stadium at 19:45.

After winning the Premier League title last year, the Blues are in the 15th place in the standings in the local tournament with 11 points, 11 behind the leaders.  They come to this game with only one victory in their past six games in all competitions, after they lost last weekend 2-1 to West Ham on the road.

In the previous round, they thrashed Walsall 4-1 away from home with goals from Ramires, Loic Remy, Kenedy and Pedro. They are looking for their sixth title in this tournament in their history and become the first to win it in consecutive seasons since Manchester United did it in 2009 and 2010.

The bad news for the London side could continue in this game. In the Stoke v Chelsea League Cup Tips, the Blues have not won any of the seven meetings they have played in the League Cup against the Potters. They have three draws and four defeats.

The last time these teams met in this tournament was in 1995 when the team led by Mark Hughes got the victory at Stamford Bridge by 1-0 with a goal from Paul Peschisolido.

Chelsea have the lead in the all-time series with 41 wins, and 18 draws in 82 games played in all competitions and they have won the past four meetings with the Potters by a combined score of 8-1. Stoke’s last victory was in 2013 by 3-2 at their pitch.

Despite their bad streak, the Blues are favorites to win this game on the road. They are listed at online sportsbook Bodog with 2.1 Odds, while the Potters are with 4.45, and the draw is with 3.7.

Stoke City have struggled to win games at home this season and in the local tournament they have one win, one draw and three defeats, scoring four goals and allowing seven. They are located in the 14th spot in the standings with 12 points, only one more than their rivals in this match.

Last weekend they surprisingly fell 2-0 at home versus Watford. With that result, they finished a streak of five straight matches with no defeat in all tournaments.

The team led by Jose Mourinho is listed with 3.35 League Cup Odds to win this game by two or more goals and with 3.8 to do it by one. The Potters are with 5.5 to get the victory by the minimum difference, and the score draw is with 4.5.

Striker Diego Costa is the favorite to score the first goal in this match, and he is listed with 5.6 Odds. The former Atletico Madrid player is followed by Radamel Falcao with 6.1 and Loic Remy with 6.5.

Chelsea cannot afford being eliminated from this competition as they have had poor performances in the local tournament and the UEFA Champions League. They will get the victory on the road and will regain confidence.
